Gas leak detection systems mainly consist of two categories of portable devices: gas leak scanners and intelligent gas leak detectors. These are used for locating leak points and quantitatively measuring leak flow, respectively.

 

Gas leak scanners (such as the ALS-200 model) are primarily used for the discovery and precise location of leaks. Their working principle involves detecting the high-frequency ultrasonic waves generated during a gas leak and using intelligent algorithms to analyze the direction and intensity of the sound source to determine the leak location. [2-3] These devices typically feature strong anti-interference capabilities, high positioning accuracy (up to ±1cm), long detection distance (effective distance approximately 5 meters), and portability (gun-type structure, lightweight), making them suitable for rapid inspection in complex pipeline environments. Typical applications include leak detection in compressed air systems in industries such as automotive manufacturing, chemical engineering, and semiconductors.

 

Intelligent gas leak detectors (such as the LT series, including models LT-200s, LT-2000s, and LT-10000s) are primarily used for quantitative measurement of leak flow. This device uses a parallel connection method, eliminating the need to disconnect the existing gas path. It can quickly (typically within 30 seconds) measure leakage flow rates ranging from 1 to 10,000 L/min (ANR) and display the converted annual energy loss. Its features include a wide measurement range, high measurement accuracy (±3% to ±5% of full scale), and a portable design with a built-in battery. It is suitable for assessing leakage and conducting energy-saving audits of equipment, branch lines, or entire workshop gas systems.
