Leaky coaxial cable, also known as leaky coaxial cable, is a coaxial communication cable with periodic slots in the outer conductor. It has both electromagnetic wave transmission and radiation functions. Its structure consists of an inner conductor, an insulating medium and a slotted outer conductor. Signal radiation and reception are achieved through slots. Electromagnetic waves form field strength attenuation during longitudinal transmission [7]. The frequency band of the leaky cable covers 450MHz-2.4GHz and above, and it is suitable for various wireless communication systems. It is widely used in wireless communication scenarios in enclosed spaces such as subways, railway tunnels, and highway tunnels, and is also used for indoor coverage. Jinan Metro Lines 4, 6 and 8 adopted the construction method of combining 5G equipment and 4G broadband equipment to access the leaky cable in the tunnel area to achieve signal coverage.

This cable uses high-physical foam insulation material, possessing moisture-proof, pressure-resistant, and tensile-resistant properties. Its transmission parameters are stable and require no air-filling maintenance. The slotted outer conductor design, combined with specific technologies (such as fission grooves), improves compatibility between low-frequency leakage and high-frequency radiation. It supports multi-band compatibility from 2G to 5G, and some models integrate power supply and emergency lighting functions.
